Far more has been accomplished for the welfare and progress of mankind by preventing bad actions than by doing good ones. -William Lyon MacKenzie King-

William Lyon MacKenzie King was the Prime Minister of Canada from 1921-1926. He led Canada’s Labor Party for 29 years. His decades old quote sums up why tort reform is bad for America, bad for safety, and bad for justice. Preventing (or punishing) "bad actions" is what trial lawyers do to naughty corporations on behalf of our citizens. Tort reform, on the other hand, is legislation that permits naughty corporations to thumb its noses at the civil justice system, ignore safety and injure, maim and kill the public, without significant penalty.
